Course Overview
Lesson 1: Foundations of Web3 and Solana
We'll begin by exploring the fundamental concepts of Web3 and blockchain technology, with a special focus on Solana's unique architecture. This foundation will set the stage for more advanced topics.
Lesson 2: Reading and Writing Data with 3 of the Most Popular Solana Tools
Moving forward, you'll learn practical skills including reading data from the blockchain and executing transactions. You will gain experience using the Solana Command Line Interface, Solana-Web3.js, and the Solana Wallet Adapter to interact with the Solana blockchain.
Lesson 3: SPL Token Program
Next you will expand on those skills to create and manage tokens on Solana. You will learn how to create your own tokens and manage them using the Solana Program Library (SPL).
Lesson 4: Developing Programs with Anchor
As we delve deeper, we will explore the development of Solana programs (smart contracts) using Anchor, a popular framework for building secure and robust programs in Rust. You will learn how programs work with acounts to manage state on chain, and you will deploy your first program to the Solana devnet.
Lesson 5-6: Building a Peer-to-Peer Tic-Tac-Toe Game
The course culminates with a project where you'll apply everything you've learned to build and deploy a peer-to-peer arcade game on devnet.
This includes a program and UI that has:
- A digital arcade that allows users to create a profile and play games
- A profile that tracks a user's wins and losses
- A "play token" that a user must burn to play a game
- An example game implementation of Tic-Tac-Toe that allows two players to play a game against each other
- Web sockets that allow users to play a game in real-time
- An NFT prize that users can mint after winning a specified number of games
Course Completion and Assessments
By the end of this course, you will be well-equipped to comfortably understand and develop on the Solana blockchain. You'll have practical experience in handling tokens, creating programs, and deploying fully functional applications. Throughout the course, quizzes will assess your understanding and help solidify your knowledge, ensuring you are fully prepared to take on real-world Solana development projects. Let's get started!
