Quicknode Earn supports MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Safe multisigs, and other wallets through WalletConnect. Your wallet determines how per-vault approvals are submitted during setup: supported wallets can batch approvals, WalletConnect wallets approve vaults individually, and Safes route transactions through their signer queue.
- For most users, use MetaMask.
- For mobile use and the Base ecosystem, use Coinbase Wallet.
- For treasuries, DAOs, and shared accounts, use a Safe multisig.
Wallet support and approval behavior
During strategy setup, each eligible vault requires an approval before Earn can use it. These approvals define the vaults available to your strategy and allow Earn to move your vault shares during rebalances.
When transaction batching is available for the connected wallet, Earn can group up to ten per-vault approvals into one transaction, reducing the number of wallet confirmations. When batching is unavailable, Earn submits one approval transaction per vault.
| Wallet | Per-vault approvals | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| MetaMask | Batched, up to 10 per transaction | Most users |
| Coinbase Wallet | Batched, up to 10 per transaction | Mobile and the Base ecosystem |
| Safe multi-sig | Queued transactions of up to 10 approvals each; co-signers approve | Treasuries, DAOs, shared accounts |
| Other wallets via WalletConnect | One approval per vault, signed individually | Existing wallets such as Rabby, Trust Wallet, or Frame |
How batching affects setup
The number of approval transactions depends on whether batching is available for the connected wallet:
- Batching supported — Earn groups up to ten approvals into each transaction.
- Batching unavailable — You approve each vault in a separate transaction.
- More than ten approvals — Earn creates additional batches of up to ten approvals.
- Multiple networks — You switch networks to approve the qualifying vaults on each chain.
The Terms of Service signature, USDC allowance, strategy authorization, and deposit remain separate prompts. Batching only changes how the per-vault approvals are submitted.
Using a Safe multisig
Use a Safe multisig when actions on an Earn strategy require approval from multiple owners.
Connect through Safe
You can connect a Safe in either of these ways:
- Safe custom app (recommended) — Open Safe and load Earn as a custom app. Earn connects to the Safe, and the workflow remains inside the Safe interface.
- WalletConnect — Open the Earn wallet picker, select WalletConnect, and connect your Safe.
Approve Safe transactions
- Each on-chain step is proposed to the Safe transaction queue.
- The required co-signers approve the transaction in Safe.
- The owner who executes the transaction pays the gas.
- On multi-owner Safes, the Terms of Service and strategy authorization signatures also enter the queue as signed-message transactions.
Signed-message transactions follow the Safe approval process but do not move funds. Safe authorization requests remain valid for 24 hours, compared with five minutes for regular wallets, giving co-signers time to approve.
