A strategy is an auto-rebalancing USDC position with its own networks, vault criteria, rebalancing settings, and balance. One wallet can own multiple strategies.
- Configure the strategy. Choose the funding source, deposit amount, eligible networks, vault criteria, and rebalancing settings.
- Review eligible vaults. Earn updates the number of qualifying vaults as you configure the strategy.
- Approve and deposit. Approve USDC and the eligible vaults, authorize the strategy, then confirm the deposit.
- Complete the deposit within one hour. Earn automatically deletes a strategy that remains unfunded for one hour.
- Supported asset. Earn strategies use USDC.
Configure the strategy
The Earn interface guides you through these ten screens:
- Where's your USDC?
Choose the network that holds the USDC for your deposit. The balance must meet the displayed $250 minimum. This funding source does not limit where the strategy can invest.
- How much to start with?
Enter at least $250 in USDC, or select MAX. Approve the displayed allowance so Earn can use that amount when you deposit. No funds leave your wallet yet.
- Which networks should it use?
Choose the networks where the strategy may invest. The funding network does not need to be included. Networks with a minimum above your deposit remain unavailable.
- How big should a vault be?
Set the minimum vault-size threshold. Earn excludes vaults below this value and shows the approximate amount each selected vault would receive.
- How easily must you be able to exit?
Set the minimum withdrawable-liquidity floor and entry multiplier. Earn exits below the floor and uses the multiplier to avoid entering a vault already near it.
- When should it move your money?
Set the required yield improvement and confirmation window. The defaults are 3% on the same network, 5% on another network, and a sustained 10-minute advantage.
- Last few details
Choose the number of vaults, the APY smoothing window, and the strategy name. Longer smoothing windows react more slowly to short-term yield changes. The default number of vaults is three.
- Approve eligible vaults
Grant each eligible vault a one-time permission, grouped by network. The more eligible vaults you approve, the more options Earn has for future rebalances.
- Create your strategy
Review the complete configuration and estimated APY, then sign the off-chain authorization. The signature creates the strategy, costs no gas, and does not move funds.
- Deposit and start earning
Review each starting vault, allocation, APY, and bridge status, then confirm the deposit. This is the step that moves USDC, and the strategy can use only approved vaults.
Earn displays the number of qualifying vaults as you configure the strategy. Open Customize vaults to review them and exclude any vaults the strategy should not use.
Approve and fund the strategy
Across the ten screens, four distinct wallet actions appear:
| Action | What happens | Funds move? |
|---|---|---|
| Approve the USDC allowance | Authorize the deposit amount for the strategy. This occurs after you enter the amount. | No |
| Approve eligible vaults | Grant each vault a one-time permission. Earn groups approvals by network to reduce wallet switching. | No |
| Authorize the strategy | Sign the strategy authorization to create and save the strategy. | No |
| Confirm the deposit | Deposit USDC into the starting vaults. Cross-chain portions complete after Circle attestation. | Yes |
The one-hour funding window begins after you create the strategy. The deposit screen shows the remaining time, and Earn deletes the strategy automatically if it remains unfunded when the window expires.
Each eligible vault requires an approval. Approving more eligible vaults gives Earn more options when evaluating future rebalances. See Approvals and signatures for wallet prompts and Cross-chain bridging for cross-chain timing.
What you can change later
Some strategy settings can be updated after creation, while others remain fixed:
| Setting type | Settings |
|---|---|
| Editable | Name, sensitivity, confirmation window, APY smoothing window, hidden vaults, and pause or resume status |
| Fixed at creation | Eligible networks, deposit amount, number of vaults, minimum vault size, and minimum withdrawable liquidity |
To deploy additional capital, create another strategy. If you hide a vault that the strategy currently uses, Earn exits it during the next check. See Rebalancing.
