Katana RPC
Katana Overviewโ
Katana is a DeFi-focused Ethereum Layer 2 built on the OP Stack and Polygon CDK. It is designed to provide high-throughput, low-cost infrastructure while concentrating liquidity and enabling sustainable yield for decentralized applications.
Katana uses ETH as its native gas token. The network leverages Ethereum for data availability and settlement, while integrating with AggLayer to enable seamless cross-chain interoperability and liquidity sharing.
Unlike general-purpose L2s, Katana is purpose-built for DeFi, featuring native yield-generating primitives and deeply integrated core applications to improve capital efficiency and user experience.
Interacting with Katana APIsโ
Katana is EVM-equivalent and supports standard Ethereum JSON-RPC methods. Developers can use familiar tools like Hardhat, Foundry, Web3.js, and Ethers.js with minimal changes.
As an OP Stack-based chain, Katana follows the same RPC interface as other Optimism-compatible networks. This allows applications built for Ethereum or other OP Stack chains to be deployed on Katana with little to no modification.
The QuickNode Katana documentation is continuously evolving as the network undergoes upgrades. We recommend cross-referencing the official Katana documentation for the latest updates and features.
Make Katana API Callsโ
The quickest way to start building on Katana is to create a Quicknode endpoint and send your first JSON-RPC request.
Quicknode provides managed Katana endpoints, giving you immediate access to Katana Mainnet without the overhead of running infrastructure. These endpoints offer:
- High reliability โ globally distributed infrastructure designed to minimize downtime
- Enhanced performance โ optimized latency and request handling for production applications
- Integrated ecosystem โ additional functionality through specialized APIs (add-ons) on the Quicknode Marketplace and products like Streams
Visit the QuickStart page to create your endpoint and send your first request.
Supported Networksโ
