Plasma RPC
Plasma Overview
Plasma is a Layer 2 scaling solution built on Ethereum that enables high-throughput, low-cost transactions while inheriting the security of the Ethereum mainnet. The platform uses child chains and fraud proofs to process transactions efficiently while periodically committing state updates to the Ethereum blockchain.
Plasma provides Ethereum-compatible smart contract execution using standard Solidity development tools. This architecture enables high transaction throughput with significantly reduced gas costs compared to Ethereum mainnet, while maintaining compatibility with existing Ethereum development tooling like Hardhat, Foundry, and Web3 libraries.
Interacting with Plasma's APIs
Plasma supports standard Ethereum JSON-RPC methods for full EVM compatibility. Developers can use familiar Ethereum development tools and libraries to build and deploy applications on the network with reduced costs and faster confirmation times.
The Quicknode Plasma documentation is continuously evolving as the network undergoes upgrades and changes, so we highly recommend cross-referencing with the official Plasma documentation for the latest updates and features.
Make Plasma API Calls
The quickest way to start building on Plasma is to create a Quicknode endpoint and send your first JSON-RPC request.
Quicknode provides managed Plasma endpoints, giving you immediate access to Plasma networks without the overhead of running infrastructure. These endpoints offer:
- High reliability – globally distributed infrastructure designed to minimize downtime
- Enhanced performance – optimized latency and request handling for production-grade apps
- Integrated ecosystem – additional functionality through specialized APIs (add-ons) on the Quicknode Marketplace and products like Streams
Visit the QuickStart page to create your endpoint and send your first request.
