Stellar Overview

Stellar is a decentralized payment network and blockchain platform designed for fast, low-cost cross-border transactions and asset transfers. The network uses the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP), a federated Byzantine agreement protocol that enables rapid transaction finality without traditional mining. Stellar facilitates multi-currency transactions and asset tokenization through built-in decentralized exchange functionality.

Interacting with Stellar's APIs

Stellar supports REST API methods through Horizon for querying ledger data, account information, and transaction history, plus Soroban JSON-RPC API for smart contract deployment and invocation. Developers can use the Stellar SDK libraries (available in JavaScript, Python, Java, Go, and other languages) or standard HTTP clients to communicate with Stellar nodes.
