How do I get started on Quicknode?

To get started, create a [Quicknode](https://www.quicknode.com/signup) account, choose a plan, then select a blockchain. See our [documentation for more](https://www.quicknode.com/docs/welcome).

Which plan is right for my project?

For early projects, we recommend Free and Build plans. For businesses ready to scale, we recommend a Scale, Accelerate, or Business plans. Enterprise plans offer more custom settings, optimized pricing, higher RPS, and more.

What are API Credits?

Usage in our pricing plans is measured in API Credits. API Credit values are based on the intensity that the method has on the platform and varies based on a number of complex factors (like compute, memory, disk, and network resources). Simply put, Method Responses x Multipliers = API Credits. Multipliers are applied to valid 200 status responses returned from the originating method. Please see our [documentation](https://www.quicknode.com/api-credits) for a full list of methods and their API Credit value.

How can I increase the limits on my endpoint(s)?

Limits can be increased by upgrading your plan to a higher tier. You can instantly upgrade to Build, Accelerate, Scale, or Business through your [Quicknode dashboard](https://dashboard.quicknode.com/billing/plan "Billing plans"). Can I pay in cryptocurrency?

Build, Accelerate, Scale, and Business customers can top up their accounts with crypto. Enterprise plans have the ability to fully pay in crypto.

How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

[Sign in](https://dashboard.quicknode.com) to your account, navigate Usage & Billing, and choose to upgrade or downgrade your plan. Please note that upgrades are effective immediately and the account is charged the difference per plan. Account downgrades take effect the following billing cycle.

When will I be charged for going over my monthly limits?

For Build, after exceeding monthly limits, additional usage > $200 is billed immediately. For Accelerate, Scale, and Business plans, after exceeding monthly limits, additional usage > $200 is billed immediately. Additional usage under the above mentioned thresholds will be billed at the end of the billing cycle.

Can I use custom traces?

Quicknode supports the use of approved custom traces. [Contact us](https://www.quicknode.com/contact-us?inquiry_topic=Ask%20Technical%20Questions) to submit your custom trace for review.
