What is Immutable zkEVM?

Immutable zkEVM is an EVM-compatible Layer 2 chain built for gaming and digital assets. It uses zk-rollups to deliver low-cost, high-throughput transactions while inheriting the security of Ethereum. Because it’s fully EVM-compatible, developers can deploy existing Ethereum smart contracts and applications on Immutable zkEVM with little to no changes, making it an accessible and scalable platform for Web3 games.

Immutable zkEVM is fully EVM-compatible. Its nodes expose a JSON-RPC interface that is compatible with Ethereum’s JSON-RPC API, allowing developers to use Ethereum’s native tools, such as Foundry, Hardhat, and popular Web3 libraries, without modification.
