BNB Smart Chain (BSC) is a high-performance, community-driven blockchain platform built to support scalable and user-friendly decentralized applications (dApps), with a particular focus on decentralized finance (DeFi). It is fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), enabling developers to deploy existing Ethereum smart contracts and use familiar Ethereum tooling. BSC achieves faster finality and lower transaction fees by employing a Proof of Staked Authority (PoSA) consensus mechanism, which combines delegated staking and authority-based block production.
