This is achieved by locking native tokens in the portal and minting pegged tokens on the destination network, maintaining a 1:1 value ratio. For example, HBAR tokens locked on Hedera are represented as HBAR[eth] on Ethereum, which are burned upon return to unlock the original tokens.
The platform operates without a proprietary token to maintain platform neutrality and is secured by a validator swarm composed of trusted industry organizations. These validators use the Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) to aggregate authorization signatures and provide traceability for asset porting operations.
