Kolibrio is a Web3 infrastructure startup focused on empowering transaction originators to reclaim and monetize value that is typically lost to Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) in blockchain networks. The company developed the BEV Relay (Broadcaster Extractable Value Relay) — an on-chain order flow auction (OFA) system that lets node providers, non-custodial wallets, cross-chain bridges, and decentralized applications (dApps) capture value from the transaction order flow they generate rather than letting sophisticated searchers and validators capture it all.
Traditionally, MEV — the additional value that can be extracted by reordering or including transactions in blocks — benefits bots and backend actors by front-running and arbitraging on transactions first seen in the public mempool. Kolibrio’s mission is to shift that dynamic: by giving broadcasters the ability to own, protect, and monetize MEV while enhancing user experience and execution quality, the protocol creates a more equitable and efficient economic model for the DeFi ecosystem.
Kolibrio’s flagship product, the BEV Relay, connects transaction broadcasters with algorithmic searchers via on-chain order flow auctions. This setup allows algorithmic participants to bid for the right to process and optimize transaction execution, paying the broadcaster instead of capturing all value themselves. The system currently supports major networks like Ethereum and Solana, with expansion plans to additional chains.
In most blockchain networks, when transactions are broadcast publicly, sophisticated algorithmic participants (searchers and bots) can observe them and extract value through techniques like front-running, sandwich attacks, and reordering. This leads to economic leakage for end users and transaction originators, who do not benefit from the MEV their own transactions generate. Traditional infrastructure also lacks mechanisms to give broadcasters ownership over their order flow or enable them to share in extracted value, resulting in inefficient value distribution and poor user experiences.
Kolibrio’s OFA system lets broadcasters (e.g., wallets, node services, dApps) run micro-auctions where searchers bid for the right to include arbitrage or execution strategies, with proceeds going to the originator rather than bots.
