Oasis is a Layer 1 blockchain network designed to bring smart privacy to Web3 and AI applications. It features the only confidential Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) in production, called Oasis Sapphire, which enables developers to build encrypted smart contracts and confidential decentralized applications (dApps) with flexible privacy settings ranging from fully private to fully public. The network is built with a modular architecture that prioritizes scalability, security, and interoperability, offering high throughput and low gas fees.

The platform includes several key components: Oasis Sapphire, the confidential EVM blockchain; Oasis Privacy Layer (OPL), a plug-and-play privacy solution that can add configurable privacy to existing dApps on any EVM-compatible chain without requiring migration; and Runtime Offchain Logic (ROFL), a framework that enables verifiable off-chain computation using Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) such as Intel TDX. ROFL supports confidential AI agents, trustless oracles, and scalable verifiable compute tasks, extending the capabilities of on-chain applications.

Oasis targets developers building privacy-sensitive applications in DeFi, DAOs, gaming, NFTs, and AI. Its interoperable design allows integration with existing Ethereum-based tools and wallets like MetaMask, easing adoption. Developers can start building by deploying encrypted smart contracts on Sapphire or by integrating the Oasis Privacy Layer to add privacy features to their current dApps.
