Overview
Gelato is a comprehensive platform designed to simplify the development and operation of smart wallets, gasless transactions, and custom rollups across more than 100 blockchain networks. It supports the latest Ethereum standards including ERC-4337 (account abstraction) and ERC-7702, enabling developers to build enterprise-grade wallets and rollup infrastructures with a single SDK and unified API. Gelato’s platform processes over 1 billion transactions and handles more than 4.5 million daily transactions, securing over $600 million in total value.
The platform offers two main product lines: Paymaster & Bundler, which enables gasless onboarding and flexible transaction fee sponsorship or token-based payments, and Rollups, which provides tooling to build custom rollups including Based, zero-knowledge (ZK), and other custom rollup types. Gelato’s Rollup-as-a-Service (RaaS) allows teams to launch testnets quickly and scale to mainnet deployments in days, exemplified by Kraken’s Ink rollup which powers a high-performance chain with over 2.5 million externally owned accounts (EOAs) and $100 million in total value locked.
Gelato also offers Web3 Functions, a decentralized cloud functions framework similar to AWS Lambda but tailored for Web3. These functions, written in TypeScript and deployed on IPFS, enable developers to automate on-chain transactions triggered by off-chain data or computations. The Web3 Functions SDK supports testing, deployment, and task creation with integration of secrets and state management. Currently in private beta, Web3 Functions provide a flexible automation layer for complex workflows that require off-chain data or computation.
