What chains does Blockbook support on Quicknode?

Blockbook is available on six chains: Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Dogecoin (DOGE), Litecoin (LTC), Zcash (ZEC), and Ethereum (ETH). Enable it per chain. Add only the chains your stack requires.

How is Blockbook different from raw Bitcoin RPC?

Raw Bitcoin RPC exposes block and transaction state. It does not index address history. Querying an address balance or transaction history natively requires scanning every block and maintaining a custom database. Blockbook indexes this data so your application can query it with a single call to methods like bb_getAddress, bb_getUTXOs, or bb_getXPUB.

How do I get the balance of a Bitcoin address via API?

Call bb_getAddress with the address as the first parameter. Blockbook returns the current balance, total received, total sent, and unconfirmed balance in a single response. No block scanning required. The data is pre-indexed and available immediately on your existing Quicknode endpoint.

Can I use Blockbook to monitor incoming deposits?

Yes. bb_getAddress returns confirmed and unconfirmed balances along with the full transaction history for any address, sorted newest-first. Payment processors and exchange deposit systems use this to detect incoming transactions and confirm settlement without polling raw blocks.

Is Blockbook a separate endpoint or an add-on to my existing one?

Blockbook is a platform feature that can be enabled on a single or all of your Quicknode endpoints. No new URL, no new credentials, no separate connection. Activate it from your dashboard and the Blockbook methods are available immediately on the endpoint you already use.

How much does Blockbook cost on Quicknode?

Blockbook starts at $75 per month for UTXO chains (Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Litecoin, and Zcash). Ethereum starts at $100 per month. Each supported chain is billed separately. You pay only for the chains your stack uses.

Does Quicknode support Blockbook on Ethereum?

Yes. Quicknode runs Blockbook on Ethereum in addition to the five UTXO chains (Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Zcash). On Ethereum, Blockbook exposes account address history and transaction data through the same JSON-RPC/REST surface, so the same client code works across all six chains.
