Quick Fact
Aleph Zero combines a high-speed, DAG-based consensus with zk-SNARK privacy layers to enable private smart contracts and confidential enterprise solutions.
Aleph Zero is a privacy-focused Layer 1 blockchain designed for scalability, enterprise-grade compliance, and secure confidential transactions. It uses a DAG-based consensus mechanism to achieve sub-second finality while maintaining decentralization and resilience. Unlike most blockchains, it combines public smart contracts with private, zero-knowledge-based execution.
Aleph Zero's privacy stack includes both zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs) and secure multi-party computation (sMPC) to protect transaction metadata and smart contract logic. This hybrid cryptographic model enables builders to create confidential DeFi protocols, private voting systems, and institution-compliant applications on-chain.
Designed with both Web3 developers and traditional enterprises in mind, Aleph Zero supports ink! smart contracts (Rust-based, via Substrate) and is interoperable with Polkadot ecosystems. Its Liminal framework abstracts away complex cryptography, allowing devs to easily deploy private dApps. Compliance tools such as identity attestations and permissioned layers are also available.
