Quick Fact
Tachyon replaces the traditional internet protocol stack with its own P2P model, focusing on security, speed, and resistance to censorship.
Tachyon Protocol is a decentralized network protocol designed to optimize internet traffic for speed, privacy, and resilience. It reconstructs the traditional TCP/IP stack using a blend of technologies like blockchain, P2P networking, UDP-based transport protocols, and end-to-end encryption.
One of Tachyon's core use cases is decentralized VPN (dVPN) functionality. Users can access private internet services through a globally distributed set of relay nodes. Node operators are rewarded in IPX, Tachyon’s native token, creating an incentive layer for maintaining network uptime and bandwidth provisioning.
Built on the V Systems blockchain, Tachyon uses the IPX token to support payments, staking, and governance within the ecosystem. The protocol is designed to facilitate secure file sharing, messaging, and general-purpose privacy tooling in addition to dVPN functionality.
