Quick Fact
Bittensor enables a decentralized marketplace for AI models, where contributors are rewarded with TAO tokens for providing valuable machine learning services.
Bittensor is a decentralized, open-source protocol that facilitates the creation and exchange of machine learning models in a peer-to-peer network. By leveraging blockchain technology, Bittensor ensures that AI models can be trained, shared, and monetized without centralized control, promoting a more open and collaborative AI ecosystem.
In the Bittensor network, machine learning models, referred to as "neurons," collaborate and compete to provide the most accurate predictions. These neurons are organized into subnets, each focusing on specific tasks or data domains. Validators assess the performance of these models, and rewards in the form of TAO tokens are distributed based on their contributions.
With the introduction of Dynamic TAO (dTAO), Bittensor has enhanced its incentive mechanisms by allowing each subnet to have its own token economy. This system enables more granular control over rewards and encourages the development of specialized AI services within each subnet. Participants can stake TAO tokens to support specific subnets, influencing their growth and the distribution of rewards.
