by Harvest Finance Farm
Quick Fact
Harvest Finance was launched in September 2020 as a trustless, permissionless yield farming protocol with no pre-mine or venture backing. It quickly grew to over $1 billion TVL by October 2020. The protocol has executed more than 100 vault strategies across Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, Base, and zkSync Era, saving users over $50 million in gas through automation and earned wider adoption via Coinbase listing of the FARM token.
Harvest Finance is a decentralized, community-governed yield farming protocol designed to optimize returns for users across multiple blockchain networks. By aggregating yields from various DeFi strategies and automating the harvesting and compounding process, Harvest reduces the manual overhead for users while improving capital efficiency.
Launched in 2020 without VC backing or pre-mines, the protocol is fully decentralized and governed by holders of the FARM token. Its mission is to democratize access to DeFi yields by making it easier, faster, and cheaper for users to earn passive income on their crypto assets.
Harvest offers “vaults,” which are smart contracts that automate DeFi strategies. Users deposit tokens, and the vaults deploy those assets into pre-audited, risk-adjusted farming strategies. Profits are periodically harvested and auto-compounded back into the vault, maximizing yield while reducing gas costs.
Harvest is deployed on multiple EVM-compatible networks, giving users access to a wide array of DeFi ecosystems. The protocol uses efficient bridging tools to manage liquidity and deploy yield strategies across chains.
The protocol collects a performance fee on generated yield. A portion of this is distributed to holders who stake FARM in the Profit Sharing pool. This mechanism aligns incentives between users and governance participants, reinforcing community-driven growth.
All protocol decisions — ranging from vault deployments and fee structures to treasury management—are governed through community proposals and FARM token voting. Harvest uses Snapshot for off-chain voting and maintains open development via GitHub and community forums.
